Tax Instructions Have Arrived!!!!!! Closed Monday, February 21

The instructions for the 1040 arrived!  All the forms and instructions we have received are in the front foyer, opposite the free materials shelves.  State and federal information is in.  We have one reference book on this year's taxes, and a few legal guides with more general information at the library.

AARP is assisting qualified filers at the Senior Center at School House Park on Sudderth, 257-4565.  Find them there Thursdays and Fridays 1-4pm and Saturdays 9am-noon, through April 16th.

NO AGE or INCOME LIMITS

Self-employed individuals are welcome.

Be sure to bring the following:
Photo ID(s)
Social Security Card(s)
Self-employed--all your expense/income documents
W-2(s)
any 1099 forms you've received
Statements for Social Security, Unemployment benefits, Gambling, & pensions
Child care, college, or training expenses
Medical expenses
Charitable donation receipts
Mortgage interest and Property tax documents
a blank check to route your return through Direct Deposit (generally 8-10 days, no fees!)
your 2009 tax return!

Complex tax returns and small businesses with employees or depreciation are not possible through this program.

For questions with your taxes call the IRS --they are open 7am to 10pm local time--so call early or late to avoid a jam.
